Confederation College in Thunder Bay, Ontario offers an Aviation Technician – Aircraft Maintenance program. We are looking for part-time teachers for the Fall 2026 semester to teach in the following courses:
AM166 – Reciprocating Engines I – (3 hours per week) In this course, students will be introduced to the basics of piston engine operation and maintenance, including principles of operation, and engine construction.
AM196 – Standard Practices I – (3 hours per week) In this course, students will learn about the tools in their toolbox, aircraft hardware and hangar safety. Students will also be introduced to visual inspection techniques.
Course delivery takes place at the College’s Aviation Centre of Excellence (remote teaching is not an option), between Monday and Friday. There may be some flexibility in which day/time the course is scheduled, but must be the same day/time per week.
Applicants must have an AME license, experience in the applicable subject matter and be able to teach in Thunder Bay through the full 15 week semester (Sept-Dec). Compensation is per teaching contact hour (TCH) and the rate is determined through a faculty salary calculation (education and experience).
