The Ottawa Flying Club is seeking a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) – M1 to join our dedicated maintenance team. OFC operates a fleet of Cessna 150s and 172s, as well as a Piper Aztec. We also provide maintenance services to privately owned aircraft. As one of Canada’s oldest and busiest flight schools, we are committed to delivering safe, reliable aircraft for our flight training operations.

Position Summary
The AME (M1) will support our flight school by ensuring all aircraft are maintained in accordance with applicable regulatory and manufacturer requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance and inspections, troubleshooting, and ensuring accurate documentation in accordance with Transport Canada CARs and OFC procedures.

Responsibilities
Perform and certify maintenance in accordance with the CARs, company policies, and manufacturer data
Troubleshoot and rectify defects on small piston engine aircraft
Complete documentation including logbook entries, work orders, and maintenance tracking
Ensure aeronautical products installed have valid certification
Tag and secure all unserviceable components in accordance with AMO procedures
Conduct engine runs and aircraft towing as authorized
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Assist with general shop maintenance
Contribute to operational efficiency and safety culture at OFC

Requirements
Valid M1 AME license (mandatory)
Strong knowledge of small piston-engine aircraft (Cessna 150/172 experience an asset)
Excellent troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Ability to work independently and as part of a small, fast-paced team
Basic computer literacy for maintenance tracking and documentation
Note: While we are hiring only licensed AMEs at this time, consideration may be given to apprentices expected to be licensed within 3–6 months.

Position Details
Schedule: Monday to Thursday (4-day workweek)
Type: Full-time, permanent
Wages: Commensurate with experience
