What: The AME Association of Ontario's Leadership PD Certificate Course for AMEs/Apprentices/Students/Employees - "Best Practices - Stress Management & Mindfulness at Work" (online module) and "Practical Skills for Understanding and Managing Personal Stress" (in-person)
Cost:
$125 + HST per attendee for Current AME Association of Ontario Individual Members
OR
$200 + HST per attendee for non-Members
(includes lunch from noon-1pm, day of the in-person session)

What: A recent study found that 40 per cent of Canadians say their personal level of stress is greater than it was last year and 58 per cent notice others around them are more stressed.

These two training courses (1 online + 1 in-person) explore the answers to these questions and more. This AME-sponsored training program provides information, skills and interactive exercises to give participants the information to better understand and manager personal stress and stress in others.
The AME Association of Ontario offers this 2-part Certification Program to our members to support you in your training and accreditation learning goals. You will receive Professional Development Credits for your successful completion of the training courses.
Format: Hybrid (1 online module + 1 in-person module)

1) Online Course (to be completed before the in-person Dec 7 event):
TITLE: SKILLS TO MANAGE STRESS AND WELLNESS IN EVERYDAY LIFE
SUMMARY OF TRAINING:
Part 1: ONLINE COURSE (40 minutes) - To be completed prior to live workshop.
Best Practices for Stress Management and Mindfulness at Work
In this informative, inspiring and practical course, psychologist Dr. Chayim Newman will teach you the key principles of Mindfulness and Stress Management as well as strategies for integrating them into your workplace and personal life.
In this course you will:
● Understand stress and its impact on you and others in the workplace
● Use mindfulness to noticeably reduce stress in your everyday work life
● Learn specific skills and strategies to manage stressful situations
● Experience a mindfulness meditation, guided by Dr. Chayim Newman
2) In-Person, Instructor-Led Course (at Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, Sat Dec 7/24; 13:00-16:00):
Part 2: LIVE TRAINING (3 hours in person)
Skills to Manage Stress and Wellness in Everyday Life:
In this engaging interactive workshop, participants will learn important information and skills to enhance their ability to identify and manage stressors in their lives with practical solutions. Specific AME job-related situations will be addressed/discussed.
You will:
• Understand the 5-part Stress Cycle
• Explore how our thoughts impact our experience of stress and wellness
• Understand the Role of Feelings in helping us manage stress
• Identify the impact of our actions in health, wellness and stress management
• Come away from the course with your own Personal Action Plan for Less Stress and Increased Wellness
CERTIFICATION:
In today’s job environment, Certifications are essential to our reputation, professional growth and self-confidence.
Participants will leave this 2-part training program equipped with information and tools on understanding and addressing workplace mental health issues.
They will receive 2 Professional Development Certificates:
1) Best Practices in Stress Management upon completion of the online course
and
2) Advanced Skills in Understanding and Addressing Stress upon completion of in-person workshop.
